Came here after a long flight to Vancouver. We needed a quick bite to eat before our check in to our hotel was available, so we stopped by here near the airport. We also saw this place on a food vlog recommendation, so we had to check it out.

I ordered the pork dumplings with the millet congee soup side. The dumpling were cooked very well and the meat inside was juicy and flavorful. The congee was watery and had very subtle flavor but mostly bland. I am not sure exactly how it should taste so I can't make a judgment here. It was a nice balance over the savory dumplings though.

Ive been here twice now and the Xiao long bao are amazing. I love how much is in each little dumplings and the flavor is really good. I tried the pan fried dumplings today and it was not as good. The bao was cooked really well with a nice crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. But there was no juice...at all. So, a little disappointed.

A pretty decent restaurant inside a food court.

Found myself around Lansdown in Richmond today. My fam and I stopped to see what R & H Chinese Food  had to offer. As we browsed the extensive menu/looked at the pictures, we watched customers who had already ordered picked up their food and walk back to their table. Glancing at the hot ordered items (mostly dumplings) we set our eyes on the hand made XLB (xiao long bao/ juicy pork buns). 6 pieces for $7.99.

No I'm not a conasure on XLB, but I know what I like. These were only a 3/5 for me. Yes, they had soup and the skin was thin all the way except where they crimped shut the top. But these ones had more of a porky flavour. Which makes sense since its a juicy pork dumpling. BUT, I personally feel  like there are other delicious XLB that will top these ones.

Vancouver is known for having amazing Asian food. These are good for a food court. So I'm not complaining. But they are definitely cheaper then Seattle prices.

So if you're in the neighborhood, go take a look at what R& H has to offer. you can even buy bags of frozen handmade dumplings to bring home.

I had bookmarked R & H to try out the Xiao Long Bao (XLB) featured in YouTuber Strictly Dumpling's recommendations for Vancouver eats. We ordered the XLB & grilled juicy dumplings which took about 15 mins to make. The XLB were delicious! Piping hot with a very thin skin and filled w/ lots of broth. Be careful not to burn your tongue as the broth is really hot. I usually pour out the broth onto a spoon to cool down slightly before dipping the XLB in vinegar & hot chili oil. The pan fried dumplings were decent but between the two, I'd gladly take another order of XLB. Credit cards accepted. It's surprisingly good XLB located in the Lansdowne Centre food court. For a rainy morning in Vancouver, dumplings & some hot tea definitely hit the spot!

I think it's a new tradition for me to come here at least once when in Richmond. The soup dumplings are amazing and its also quick and affordable.  The amount of juice in these dumplings put others to shame (especially in the states). The dumplings are super flavorful and I feel like I can keep on eating,  even after a couple meals beforehand.
